A Sailor's or Watchman's Cap by any other name...

A “Killick” is another name for the rank of Leading Seaman in many Commonwealth navies. It is also derived from the Old German word for “anchor”—the perfect description for this sailor-style cap. As an advanced beginner project, it will be an “anchor” for many knitting skills to come.

Whether you are just starting out, or simply looking for something quick-and-easy, this watchman’s cap, which uses raglan-style decreases to create the shaping, will soon be a “go-to” toque pattern in your arsenal. Get creative with stripe placements and yarn to make it uniquely yours!
