Lollipop Dream

"I was in my bed and I saw people and kids walking in the dark!"

He took another pucker-lipped slurp from his lollipop--a rare treat. I turned and looked at him, laundry basket balanced against my torso.

"You mean in your dream?"

"Yeah." Lick.

"What happened?"

He gave me a blank stare. "Nothing."
