Crochet Slip Stitch

For when you need to keep it small

This stitch is often used for tacking down or joining chains in the round, or for other places where you need a very low-height way to move your yarn along the work.

How to do it:

Basic Principle:

You’ll be using a crochet hook to make a basic chain through another stitch.

  1. Insert your hook through the top two loops (the top chain) of the row below.

  2. Catch the yarn and pull it through the loops. You should have two loops on the hook—the one you just made and the one from the previous stitch.

  3. Continue pulling the yarn through loop from the previous stitch.

  4. Congratulations! You’ve completed a crochet slip stitch!
