I wrote this song while I was in college, to remind myself and others that the Jesus we talk about each Christmas isnβt just a cute little baby, but the Saviour of mankind and the very One who spoke mankind into being. He gave everything for us, and we owe him everything.
I had so much fun working with the Latin groove of this song, inspired by some music Iβd fallen in love with in my jazz-focused college courses. Itβs been performed publicly twiceβonce for a Christmas service by talented church musicians, and later, by an amateur adult choir I was directing. A live recording of the former was also released as a demo in 2007.

Driven by a Latin-inspired groove, it sits in a comfortable one-octave range and can be sung by male or female lead vocalists. Iβve even arranged it for SAT choirβwith an intro of βO Come, O Come, Emmanuelββand seen amateur singers pull it off beautifully.
