Many of my songs focus on the tenderness of Christ. But this song is inspired by the fierce and powerful God who shows up in the pillar of fire leading the Israelites through the desert and called Peter to walk across the water toward him. That’s the God who doesn’t ever leave us in the midst of our trials, even when we can’t hear or see him. Instead, he uses those times to transform us.
Originally written in 2011, this revised version is the first of my songs that I produced using an AI tool for the vocals and music. It helped me see what was possible—and turned out better than I even expected.
