For when you want your whole life to look a little more like Jesus.

β€œLet Me Love” is a simple, heartfelt prayer set to musicβ€”to love like Christ with your whole being: heart, mind, and strength. It’s for the moments when you’re painfully aware of your own limits but still want your life to point people to the perfect love of God. It asks God to help you love the lost, cherish His Word, and follow the example of the King who gave everything for love, turning everyday obedience into a beautiful act of worship.

Award-winner!

β€œLet Me Love” was the First Runner-Up in the Christian category for the Second Quarter 2014 Song of the Year competition, out of more than 10,000 entries. Read the blog post I wrote in October of 2014 when it was selected as a Top 5 Finalist.

  • This mellow, worshipful ballad is singable and easy to pick up, with an AABA structure and a melodic range that feels natural for most congregations and solo vocalists. Beautifully performed here by featured vocalist Larrissa Mundt, it works well as a praise and worship song or a reflective Christian pop piece, and is suited to artist projects, church services, and faith-based media that need a gentle, Christ-like-love-focused prayer.

This demo is a songwriter recording intended to highlight the song’s potential for artists, worship leaders, and producers. Any commercial release would require a new master recording.

The underlying song is available for recording and licensing for:

    • Artist and worship releases (albums, EPs, singles)

    • Faith-based media, film, and sync opportunities

  • This song was inspired by Matthew 22: 37-40, where Jesus sums up the Law and the prophets with two great commandments: Love the Lord God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and love your neighbour as yourself.

From a technical standpoint, I was also practicing writing songs using AABA form, and this concept fit that format perfectly.

  • With all my heart, let me love the lost
Give them my hand, lead them to the cross
    Compassion rule my ev’ry part
Let me love with all my heart
Let me love with all my heart.

With all my mind, let me love the Word
Take it to those who haven’t heard
That if you seek, then you will find
Let me love with all my mind
Let me love with all my mind.

And as I show Your love to man, though I’m weak and flawed
Let them see, when they look at me, the perfect love of God.

With all my strength, let me love the King
Who left his throne, gave up ev’rything
To show that love goes to any length
Let me love with all my strength
Let me love with all my strength.

And as I show Your love to man, though I’m weak and flawed
Let them see, when they look at me, the perfect love of God.

With all my strength, let me love the King
Who left his throne, gave up ev’rything
To show that love goes to any length
Let me love with all my strength
Let me love with all my strength.
Let me love with all my heart, my mind and strength.

β€œTherefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
