Must...Have...Inspiration

Where is that thing? I know I left it around here somewhere!

How many times have you been in that situation—standing in the middle of your storage room, or your garage, or rummaging around under your bed or in your closet, the treasure you seek always just elusively beyond your grasp. Pretty soon you get distracted by a wail from the other room, then you completely forget what you were looking for in the first place!

Maybe I'll find it here! Googling: blog prompts. "My 10 deepest sorrows..." No, too depressing. "Write a 10-line poem." Don't feel like writing poetry. "Describe five things you can see right now." Hmmm...

1. The book All You Need To Know About the Music Business by Donald S. Passman is sitting on my desk, waiting for me to review the sections on copyright, royalties, etc., because I just finished writing several country songs for an up-and-coming local teen with big hopes for success in the industry. Gotta get to that this weekend.

2. There is a hand-written recipe for Minted Coconut Beet Soup sitting in front of me, waiting for me to format it properly in Word and send it to one of my soup testers for my up-and-coming Soup Cookbook. (She's been waiting semi-patiently for about three weeks now. Pretty soon all her beets will have wilted!)

3. There is an eraser (and ruler—okay, bonus item in this point) which I was using to totally revamp the house plans. After cleaning my brains out in my current house for a week, and still only getting a portion of the house to the level I like to maintain, I had an epiphany—I do NOT want to have to clean a 3500 sq. ft. house for the rest of my life. I don't care how nice it would have looked—cozy is better, and leaves me more time to actually play with my kids or enjoy the gorgeous yard we are going to have. So we are now down a floor—just a basement and a main floor, now. Still spacious enough to fit all of our needs and not feel cramped, but not so spacious that I feel like I am cleaning wasted space. (Yet one more reason I am glad we didn't build this summer!)

4. The camera that needs to have pictures of Thanksgiving weekend with my dad uploaded onto my computer, reminding me of the great memories, great food, and beautiful weather that we had last weekend.

5. Framed scrapbook layouts on my wall, reminding me that it is time to update--so a-scrapbooking I will go, right now!

Ah! There you are. Inspiration, where have you been? I missed you. *snuggle*
